Last year’s Council negotiated the new Plasma screens in the sixth form block, raised over £100 for Red Nose day, £2000 for Breast Cancer Care on Pink Friday and enjoyed a successful sports day at the end of 2009.

 

While other Councils might just have sat back then and felt pleased the Council of 2009 went on to organise:

The Winter Ball,

Christmas Dinner

Art work and photographs for the Commonroom

An improved common room  layout

A brilliant prom

And leavers photo presentation.

 

The Sixth Form Team and Student body wish to thank them for their outstanding efforts and unfailing enthusiasm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

At the start of each academic year Tutor Groups elect a representative (or two - we try to remain flexible)  These Form Reps. serve on the Council along side others who are elected to specific posts in a secret ballot later in the school year.

 The Co-Presidents of the Sixth Form Council  need considerable initiative and leadership skills.  They also need to be cool public speakers as they represent the Sixth Form (often at large public gatherings!) They call council meetings and chair them.  They are assisted by a Secretary and Treasurer.
The Council also request a £3 donation to be given to your Form Representative towards the running costs of the Common Room etc.
